Il Summerfest si tiene ogni anno a Milwaukee, negli Stati Uniti. Si è tenuto per la prima volta nel 1968, diventando così uno dei più antichi festival musicali del mondo. Il festival è stato creato dai leader civici e dal sindaco della città Henry W. Maierin, con l'intento di rivitalizzare il centro di Milwaukee e di offrire alla comunità un evento adatto alle famiglie.
Inizialmente chiamato "Milwaukee World Festival", si svolgeva su un piccolo palco in un parcheggio del centro e presentava soprattutto artisti locali.
